A garage or pole barn slab carries point loads that a patio never sees: jack stands, lifts, loaded trailers and tractor tires. That includes new garage additions, where the new slab has to tie in cleanly to the existing floor.

We build these slabs thicker at the edges, over a vapor barrier, with wire-mesh reinforcement throughout the field and additional steel where the design requires it — never on loose, unprepared soil.

Pole barn and outbuilding slabs on acreage

On rural properties in Highland, Milford, Howell and Brighton, we pour inside existing post-frame buildings as well as new construction. Access, interior height and post placement drive the pour sequence, so we walk the building before we quote it.

  • Pours inside existing pole barns
  • Equipment, RV and trailer pads
  • Gravel-to-concrete conversions
  • Floor drains routed to daylight or dry well

Tell us if you plan to add a lift

A two-post lift needs a known slab thickness and strength under the posts. Telling us before the pour costs nothing; adding lift pads after the fact means saw-cutting and patching a finished floor.

Common questions

How thick should a garage floor be?

4.5 inches is our residential standard, six to eight inches with thickened edges where trucks, trailers or a lift are involved.

Can you pour a slab in my existing pole barn?

Yes, as long as we can get a chute or pump line to the pour. We handle grading, base and vapor barrier inside the building.
