Settled, cracked or uneven steps are the most common safety complaint we get called out for, and the most common failed item on a home inspection.

We pour steps on frost footings so they move with the house instead of pulling away from it.

Why steps separate from the house

Most failed stoops were poured on fill dirt with no footing. Frost lifts them in January and gravity drops them in April until a gap opens at the siding.

A poured footing below frost depth, doweled into the foundation where appropriate, stops that cycle.

  • Frost footings below 42 inches
  • Uniform risers and safe tread depth
  • Railing anchors set during the pour
  • Landings pitched away from the door

Common questions

Can you match my existing porch finish?

Usually. We can match broom direction, edge detail and stamped patterns closely, though color on a new pour will lighten over the first season.

Do you install railings?

We set anchor points during the pour and coordinate with your railing installer so nothing gets core-drilled into fresh concrete.
