Lyon Township is one of the fastest-growing corners of Oakland County, and the work reflects it: new-construction driveway additions, third-car extensions, turnarounds and outbuilding slabs on acreage.
Newer homes here frequently come with a minimum builder driveway. Widening it correctly — matched thickness, tied jointing, no cold-joint seam down the middle — is a different job than pouring a strip alongside it.
A production builder pours the smallest compliant driveway. When you add a third bay, a boat pad or a turnaround, the new work has to match slab thickness and joint pattern or the seam telegraphs a crack within a couple of winters.
