Foundations & Footings Installed by Marcucci Concrete

Footings and block are where this family started. Tom Marcucci was installing footings, block and driveways in this area for more than 25 years before ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition selected him for the 2004 Vardon family build in Oak Park.
Structural work is inspected work. We build to the print, to code, and to the inspector's schedule.
What we handle
New home foundations, home additions, attached and detached garage additions, porch and deck footings, pole barn perimeter footings, crawl spaces and basement walls.
- Excavation and footing layout to the engineered print
- Frost footings and pier footings
- Poured concrete foundation walls
- Block foundation walls with reinforced cores
- Footing drain tile and damp-proofing coordination
- Inspection scheduling with your municipality
Foundations for home additions
An addition has to sit at the same height as the house it joins and settle the same way. We set the new footings below frost depth, match the existing foundation elevation and build the walls so the new bedroom, family room or kitchen bump-out ties into the original structure cleanly.
Garage addition foundations
For an attached or detached garage we pour the footings and walls, then the garage floor slab and apron, so one crew owns the whole base under your cars, workshop or storage.
Poured walls or block: which is right?
Poured concrete walls go up as one continuous pour, which means fewer joints for water to find and a strong, uniform wall for basements and full-height foundations. Block foundations are the traditional choice in Michigan and work well for crawl spaces, garages and additions where access or design favors block. We build both and will recommend the one that fits your print, soil and budget.
Soil in Oakland and Livingston counties
The clay through Wixom, Commerce and South Lyon holds water and heaves. Sandier ground near Highland and Brighton drains better but can require different bearing widths. We check the soil at the hole rather than assuming what the subdivision next door had.

Common questions
Do you pull permits?
We coordinate permits and inspections with your municipality and your builder or architect on structural work.
Do you build foundations for home additions and garage additions?
Yes. We pour footings and build poured concrete or block foundation walls for home additions and attached or detached garage additions, matched to the existing house.
Do you do poured walls or block foundations?
Both. We build poured concrete foundation walls and block foundations, for slab, crawl space and basement homes.
Can you do just the footings and block for my builder?
Yes. A large share of our structural work is performed as a subcontractor for local builders and general contractors.
